Jul 26, 2012   //   by admin   //   Blog, Conference, Volunteers  //  2 Comments

It’s that time again when we are looking for volunteers to help bring Show Me the Blog 3.0 to life! It’s our volunteers along with our staff that really is the true grit of the conference. We are looking for a few good men and women to help us successfully pull off yet another amazing conference event.

Here are the details:

About Show Me the Blog:

Show Me the Blog Social Media and Blogging Conference is for social media enthusiasts, bloggers, those who want to blog, and online marketers, who are in the Midwest to network, share information, exchange resources, and learn from each other.  Show Me the Blog hosts boot camps and workshops through out the year to help new and current bloggers learn up to date information.  Show Me the Blog is currently looking for volunteers to assist with this year’s conference October 18-20, 2012.

Who:

Anyone who is interested in helping Show Me the Blog with the conference, we need a variety of volunteers (media savvy, bloggers, and technology nerds). If you want to participate, you may have to commit to both days and one full day depending on your volunteer assignment.  The time requirement will be discussed later in full detail. You do not have to have prior volunteer experience, but the more social media savvy you are the better!

Skills Desired:

College students, bloggers, technology nerds, people interested in social media, you do not have to have a college degree, but you must be 18 years of age and older.  You need to be able to work under pressure and have a positive attitude while doing so.

This is not a paid opportunity, but does include free entrance into the conference both days as well as an invitation to all staff and speaker events.

Show Me the Blog Is Looking for a Volunteer Coordinator

Mar 28, 2011   //   by admin   //   Announcements, Volunteers  //  No Comments

Things are really moving along for Show Me the Blog Social Media and Blogging Conference. We appealed for volunteers last month and we have had an overwhelming response. There are many areas that we need volunteers in, but we also need a volunteer coordinator to manage the volunteers and assign duties.

The volunteer coordinator is not a paid position but does come with a few perks: free admission to conference for you and a guest, a participation certificate, letter of recommendation, and a gift. It would only take about 1.5 to 2 hours per week currently and more time may be needed of course as we get closer to conference. This position would be perfect for a college student who would like experience in event planning, organizing, and management.

If you are truly interested in this opportunity, please send an email to info@showmetheblog.com. In the subject line, please write Volunteer Coordinator.

Please pass along this current opening to someone you think may be interested. Thank you!

There is so much that goes into planning and executing a conference. A good solid team of volunteers is essential for making a wonderful event happen. So we are calling on you for some help from our friends. We are looking for a few good volunteers who are interesting in doing anything from manning the registration tables at the conference, to setting up, to helping with communication needs. If you would like to volunteer, please email us at showmetheblog@yahoo.com.

Those that volunteer for the conference will receive free entrance into the conference for both sessions as well as our thanks and undying love. I’d say those are good things to have!
