Details: Time to Play Game Night Pre-Conference Reception

We announced a few months ago that one of our sponsors, Time to Play, is hosting a Game Night Pre-Conference Reception the night before the conference begins. It’s a great opportunity to get to mix and mingle with other conference attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, volunteers, and other guests before the conference officially kicks off. Time to Play is the authority for toys and games, so it’s only right that we enjoy a night playing and having fun while getting to know one another better.

The Time to Play Game Night Pre-Conference Reception is open to current ticket holders for the conference, only. So if you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for?

It’s Official: Details for 2012 Show Me the Blog Are Announced

You’ve waited. You’ve anticipated. And now, it’s finally here. We bring you the news that the 2012 Show Me the Blog Social Media and Blogging Conference details have finally be finalized.

This year’s conference will take place on Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th, 2012, at the Regional Arts Commission located in the Delmar Loop. The conference will consist of multiple tracks, and will take place from 10am to 5pm on both days. A pre-conference reception will be held at the Regional Arts Commission from 6 pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 18th.

A wrap party is being planned and the location will be announced this summer.

The host hotel this year will be the Moonrise Hotel, located across the street from the Regional Arts Commission. The Moonrise Hotel is a unique boutique lodging facility that is pet friendly.

The room rates are:

• Thursday, October 18th ($129)
• Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th ($139)

You can reserve your room by calling the Moonrise directly at 314-721-1111 and mentioning ‘Show 2012 Rate’.

You can also go to http://www.moonrisehotel.com and fill in the appropriate reservation information on the left side of the opening screen.  In the box labeled “Group Code” fill in the booking code, which is ‘show2012‘ and the reservation will be made at our negotiated rate.

The accommodations are a Superior King or Superior Double Queen styled rooms.

We are working on additional “bells and whistles” which will be added and announced as they are planned. We are also looking for speakers, so if you are interested in speaking, please email us at info@showmetheblog.com.

Tickets go on sale for the conference Friday, April 27th. For two days, you can buy passes for both days of the conference for $75.00. On Monday, April 30th, that rate will raise to $99.

Our list of speakers will be announced next week, but the topics this year will include monetization and income, business blogging, PR and social media, photography, eBook and traditional publication, guest blogging, niche blogging, social media consulting, conference attendance tips, SEO, branding, and so much more!

The Official Show Me the Blog Premixer (and St. Louis Cardinals World Series Watch Party) is at The Luna Lounge on Thursday, October 20^th from 6 to 9pm.

Nosh on finger foods (vegans, you will have something to nosh on too!), get your drink on, and mix and mingle with speakers and attendees of the Show Me the Blog Conference. This is a fabulous pre-conference event where you can get some networking in before conference begins.

We will also be giving attendees badges so that is one less thing you have to worry about on conference day!

The Luna Lounge is located at 4561 Gravois in historic Bevo Mill, just 10 minutes away from downtown St. Louis.

There is a 2-drink minimum (domestic beer and soft drinks are available for $5.00 for 2 drinks) You can purchase drink tickets at the door for $5 for two tickets!

Also, since the Cards are in the World Series, The Luna Lounge will be broadcasting the game on the big screen for all attendees.

Recap: Showcasing the Branded You Personal Branding Workshop

Show Me the Blog and A Branded You teamed up to bring a comprehensive and interactive personal branding and networking tips workshop at UMSL called Showcasing the Branded You: Personal Branding and Networking for Professional Success. The purpose of the event was to help people who are looking for employment opportunities or small business owners help brand themselves to be able to complete in their genre or niche.

The room was full of both old and new faces as well all bonded together over an afternoon of information and tips. This is the first ever co-event that Show Me the Blog and A Branded You have done together, but hopefully will not be the last.

#SMBSTL Staff Attends WordCamp Chicago

If you have been following us on Twitter and Facebook for the last few days, then you know that we have been attending WordCamp Chicago 2011 at the DePaul University Student Center. Kim (Communications Director) and myself have been soaking up the wonderfulness that is WordPress information, tools, and tips. I can honestly say that this experience was well worth the $40 ticket price, and I have been taking notes like crazy trying to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

At Show Me the Blog, we heavily prefer WordPress over other blogging modules. So we were elated to find out that WordCamp is finally coming to our neck of the woods August 6th at Maryville University. WordCamp is the preeminent WordPress conference in which you can learn everything about the interface including design, development, and business in terms of the blogging tool.
