Very Important! Venue Change For Show Me the Blog

Oct 20, 2010   //   by admin   //   Announcements, Conference, Show Me the Blog  //  No Comments

This is one announcement we didn’t want to have to make, but in order to move forward with Show Me the Blog, we had to change the venue.

Due to circumstances beyond our control with the original location of the conference, we had to change venues. We were able to secure another venue in Maryland Heights (about 10 minutes away from Spazio’s Westport) at the Maryland Heights Centre.

The address for the Maryland Heights Centre is:

2344 McKelvey Road

Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043

We will be in Room 2

At 8am, we will all meet in the Maryland Heights Centre lobby area for a light breakfast and then we will start registration for those who haven’t gotten their badges and schwag at the pre mixer.

The conference will begin at 9 am and the speakers schedule has been adjusted to change the start time. We will have less breaks, but should end on time at 5pm.

Lunch will still be served on site.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Out of towners, we will be staying at the host hotel so you can follow us to the venue on Saturday morning if you are not familiar with the area. We will depart the host hotel at 7:30am. Please meet us in the lobby at 7:20am.

We will also provide maps at the pre conference mixer the night before if you are not staying at the host hotel or cannot follow us.

If you have any questions, please email us at info@showmetheblog.com

We will have a great conference!

Just Added: Beginner’s Blogging Workshop at Pre Conference Mixer

Oct 19, 2010   //   by admin   //   Announcements, Events, Pre-conference Mixer, Show Me the Blog  //  4 Comments

While the speaker and panelist line up for conference is shaping up to be an informative and well versed line-up, it may be missing a component for the beginning blogger who is looking for information to help them start their blogs. So after careful consideration, we have added a Beginner’s Blogging Workshop during the pre-conference mixer at St. Louis Coworking.

The Beginner’s Blogging Workshop will be hosted by: Lifestyle and mom blogger, The Cubicle Chick, writer and Yelp Community Manager Abby Schwarz, Mom Blogger Robyn’s Online World, and girly tech chick That Tech Chick.

It will cover such topics as:

  • Finding your niche
  • Expressing your voice
  • Blogging platforms
  • Design tips
  • ..and much, much more!

The Beginner’s Blogging Workshop will take place in the conference room at St. Louis Coworking from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

We would like you to sign up if you are interested in attending this portion of the pre conference mixer. The actual pre conference mixer within itself will end at 7:00pm and will continue while the workshop is commencing.

RSVP for the workshop by leaving a comment below. This workshop is only offered to attendees of Show Me the Blog Social Media and Blogging Conference.

Businesses, We Need You!

Oct 12, 2010   //   by admin   //   Announcements, Conference, Sponsors  //  2 Comments

Who would’ve thought that organizing a conference would be such a daunting task? (insert sarcasm here). In any event, I have signed up to do this, and I am working very hard to make sure that the conference is a success. While the response to Show Me the Blog has been most awesome, we are still looking for more businesses to sponsor the conference in addition to supplying items (promotional items, small gifts) for schwag bags that will be given to attendees, speakers, guests, panelists, etc. These items are important because as a social media conference, our attendees will be live blogging, tweeting, Facebooking the event—a great way to get your company’s image out there!

I am appealing to you to become a sponsor of SMtB. Starting at just $100, it is a wonderful way to show your business cares about the local social media community. AND, in addition, we have speakers and attendees who are from areas of the country such as Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and Tennessee! Spread your message to many parts of the country!

If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities are want to have your promo items included in our schwag bags, please send an email to info@showmetheblog.com

Conference is in 11 days, but we can still make it happen!

Announcement for SMtB Attendees, Speakers, & Panelists

Oct 5, 2010   //   by admin   //   Announcements, Badges, Conference, Show Me the Blog  //  No Comments

It has come to my attention that many names given in registration may be incorrect because the ticket may have been purchased by someone else or from a different Pay Pal account. In order to make sure we have badges made with the right information, please follow the instructions below:

Email the name you’d like to be registered under (first/last), the name you are currently registered as (first/last), your URL or blog address, and your Twitter name to info@showmetheblog.com.

Speakers and panelists, please email your name (the way you would it to appear on your badge), and Twitter handle (since some of you use multiple Twitter IDs)

Please send this information ASAP to insure your badge will have the correct info.

Badges will be given during the SMtB Pre Conference Mixer at STL Coworking as well as the morning of the conference.

Conference is almost here! And yes, there are still a few tickets left. So tell a friend to tell a friend! We want a packed house!
